The West of England Green 50 will celebrate businesses across the region who are doing their bit to save the planet.

That could be because they manufacture wind turbines or gizmos that make people’s cars burn less fuel. Or it might be that they have transformed the way they do their business, in whatever field, in order to work in an environmentally sustainable way.

Our aim is to shine a spotlight (one using an energy saving light bulb, of course) on companies and organisations within the West of England, including Bristol, Bath, Somerset, Gloucestershire and Wiltshire, which are embracing a green culture in the way they operate.

By publicising and sharing these success stories, we will not only give a big pat on the back to those doing the right thing but hopefully inspire others to follow suit and give them a few ideas where to start.

The initiative will culminate in a celebration evening in the autumn and the publication of the West of England Green 50 list in the Western Daily Press, Bristol Post and Bath Chronicle.
