Royal Bath & West Show

The Royal Bath & West Show is delighted to continue its sponsorship of the Best Food & Drink Category at the Western Daily Press Food & Farming Awards for the second year running.

For over 150 years food and drink has been at the heart of both The Royal Bath & West Show and The Royal Bath & West of England Society’s activities.

2016 saw an exciting evolution at The Show with an all new area dedicated to Great British Food & Drink, featuring over one hundred exhibitors; ranging from artisanal producers to funky street food merchants.  Consumers had the opportunity to meet the producers and sample some of the very best of Great British Food & Drink.   This evolution will continue in 2017 with even more fantastic food and drink on offer.

A rich vein of food & drink runs throughout the event; The Show is home to the British Cheese Awards, a showcase of over 900 cheeses ranging from small artisan producers to large scale manufacturers who export around the world.  The British Cider Championships attracts over 600 entries from across the UK - with increasing numbers from beyond these shores - and with the renaissance in artisan ciders, both traditional and modern, the Orchards & Cider area is going from strength to strength.

Alan Lyons, Head of Shows said: “We’re thrilled to continue our involvement with the awards, especially as we have worked with the Western Daily Press for a number of years.  The category fits perfectly with the philosophy of the Show in showcasing the finest of Great British Food and Drink.  It is going to be really interesting judging the category; there are so many excellent producers across our region, it’s going to be tough call!”
